Switzerland played with everyone on the defensive, made a barrier to block Brazil's attack, and even then it didn't work out. You underestimate Brazil, they were playing with a reserve team.
I am curious, I didn't know Mosse was the Jonah Hill from Moneyball for soccer. What stat does he think is the most important to look at that will determine the winner of a game (time possession, # passes, whose side had most of the ball in the opposing final third etc... Is there any Stats he would add to focus on? What Stats are useless? Also, when evaluating a player. what Stats should GMs look at? I could see some conflict with old school people. Pep said the most important attribute of a player is character. Jonah Hill says its he gets on base (OBP) in baseball. What is it for soccer.
@1 1 Which is why I thought to mention shots on goal as the 2nd and likely very close metric. And there's not really a solid way to accurately determine what is/isn't a pass that constructively travels past an opposing player. Unless we're talking about goals, of course haha. Perhaps, but I'm sticking with ball possession time as what could only be considered at worst a top two key metric. The game is just too dynamic and occurs on too large an area to boil down to one metric that if focused on would incur won matches.
@WCS Art and Design I would think it would be most number of passes that go by the opposing players. I always thought it was time possession as I played for a German coach back in the day and it was drilled in our heads, "If they don't have the ball they can't score". I'm pretty sure some years ago I saw a stat that said higher ball possession teams win 50 percent of games.
Baseball is a much simpler game than soccer, first of all. And the on-base stat being so vital is easy to explain... if batter A gets on base, and then batter B gets on base, etc, soon you score a run. Soccer doesn't manifest scoring in that kind of set start/stop/start/stop mono-spatial (bases) fashion. That said, I'd vote for ball possession time as the 1st most important metric, then shots on goal would be the 2nd.
Brazil beat Switzerland's anti-football who played with 11 in defense and didn't even scare the Brazilian goalkeeper. It looks like 0-0 for Switzerland would have been a great victory. Ugly strategy for the world of football.
krclip.com/video/Z92IN0X_hmo/비디오.html and beyond. I am pretty sure that is Clint Dempsey behind Alexi's shoulder getting ready for his show. Beard. Grey suit
Alexi, I would like to give a shout out since you have red hair and she has red hair. My physical therapist who just happens to be Kelly O'Hara's cousin. She was quite an athlete as well as she played Division I field hockey. God bless!
@Andrew Ziebro I know, I'm just picky. In my fantasy world American football finds a new name, Americans switch to the metric system, and daylight savings time ceases globally. Consider this my vote for that fantasy.
RESPECT FROM BR!!!!
Brazil can win the World Cup and David Mosse will still not be satisfied lol
O unico problema são os erros de finalizações! De resto não tem o que reclamar.
Guimaraes over Fred all day😂
Tite needs to save Casemiro’s legs and have Fabinho do the dirty job against Les Lions Indomptables.
agreed. We sit Casemiro next match as well as 3-4 others.
Mosse is the GOAT 💯👏
¡Más Mosse por favor!
When is Alexi going to apologize for saying the "Great" Piers Morgan?
Gonna need that by the end of the WC

What you guys think about Vinicius jr I believe he was robbed .
I agree! That goal was not offside!

@Gerson Souza everyone knows that but what does that have to do with soccer
@Carlos you don’t know anything about America, they put the man in the moon!!!!!
Be realistic as an American the furthest we can get is the quarterfinals

No soccer, es fútbol
David Mosse is the guy!!!

He didn't get called up.
Can Gio just get a sniff?? 😒😔
I really like this podcast series. I think Mr. Lalas is a great broadcaster.
If Ronaldo scores, it would muss his hair... maybe.
10:00 Deuce chillin in the back... heh
Never a pen; even Mark Clattenburg agrees 😑

Lalas is terrible. His hate for Ronaldo shouldn’t be tolerated. Why does Fox keep this guy on.
Brah many people hate Ronaldo. Hes always faking.
Alexi, I would like to give a shout out since you have red hair and she has red hair. My physical therapist who just happens to be Kelly O'Hara's cousin. She was quite an athlete as well as she played Division I field hockey. God bless!
this guy is a fred hater....i dont like fred either haha
Downvote for calling football soccer
@Andrew Ziebro I know, I'm just picky. In my fantasy world American football finds a new name, Americans switch to the metric system, and daylight savings time ceases globally. Consider this my vote for that fantasy.
It’s called soccer in America. It’s an American show.
Mossy mossy mossy
France
This is why Alexi Lalas needs to be removed from MLS. Worst than Joe Buck.
FIFA is making it clear that they want Portugal to make it to the finals. Two really terrible penalties for Portugal in two matches.
@Jm his hand was in a natural position when he is falling on his back. He needed those hands to support his body.
bwah ha ha. stupid comment.
Ronaldo always faking. I rly dislike Ronaldo.
How? That was a clear hand ball. Bruno would have been clear of it was not for the hand stop
Pretty horrible commentary
